Join Shizuoka’s only female onigawara artisan for a hands-on
workshop where you’ll create your very own demon-faced roof
tile, inspired by your imagination. While crafting, you’ll also
learn about the history and traditional techniques of Shimizu
roof tiles.

  • Inclusions

    • Complete Onigawara workshop kit, including clay, tools, and instruction.
    • Firing and shipping within Japan are included. International shipping is available for an additional fee.

  • Notes

    1. Conducted in Japanese.
      Non-Japanese speakers are required to have an interpreter
      (arranged upon request, extra fee).
    2. The workshop is held indoors; participants should wear ppropriate clothing (items may get wet or dirty).
    3. Finished works will be fired and shipped later (delivery may take several months).
    4. International shipping incurs an additional fee.  Participants must follow staff instructions.
    5. Late arrivals of more than 15 minutes may be refused entry; no refunds for late arrivals or no-shows.
