10:10 Inuyama Castle
Built in 1537, Inuyama Castle is Japan’s oldest surviving lookout-style keep. It withstood wartime and is one of five castles designated as a National Treasure. The four-story structure has three roofs and two underground levels.

Sanko Inari Shrine, at the base of the castle hill, is known for its red torii gate tunnel—a popular photo spot and symbol of the shrine.

11:45-13:45 Walk through the Castle Town
Stroll freely through the historic castle town, whose layout—unchanged since Inuyama Castle was built—was designed for defense, with samurai and townspeople districts. Enjoy local treats like dango, tofu dengaku, and goheimochi, and explore art and souvenir shops. On weekends, try throwing ninja shuriken. You can also visit the Karakuri Exhibition Room and Donden-Kan to experience the Inuyama Festival year-round.
