This private 1-day tour explores Kirishima's rich nature and culture with a dedicated guide and charter vehicle. Visit the National Treasure Kirishima Shrine, trek through the scenic Ebino Kogen highlands, and end the day at Maruo Falls, where hot spring water cascades in a unique "Yunotaki" waterfall.

Kirishima Shrine

Kirishima Shrine, nestled in the forest, is a famed spiritual site dedicated to Ninigi-no-Mikoto from the Tenson Korin myth. Its richly decorated buildings are designated national treasures. *Interior access is not included in the tour.

Kirishima Roadside Station(Free time for lunch - lunch charges not included)

Stop at Kirishima Roadside Station for stunning views of the Kirishima Mountains and Kinko Bay. Enjoy local shops and restaurants—lunch is at your own expense.

Ebino Kogen Trekking (approx. 130 minutes)

Enjoy a 2-hour trek at Ebino Kogen, a 1,200m-high nature-rich area in the Kirishima Mountains. Starting at the Eco Museum Center, take in views of cobalt blue crater lakes and Karakunidake, the highest peak. *Route and duration may vary due to volcanic activity or trail conditions.

Maruo Falls

Located southwest of the Kirishima Mountains, Kirishima Onsenkyo features 9 hot springs fed by Mt. Kirishima. End the tour at Maruo Falls, or "Yunotaki," a 23m-high waterfall with hot spring water flowing in a rare milky blue, creating a unique atmosphere.

  • Operation Conditions/Tour Conditions

    - The number of customers for 1 group booking for this tour is 2-8.

    - The last reception day (reservation deadline) is 14 days prior to the tour.

    - If the minimum number of participants (2) is not met by 4 days before the scheduled date, or due to other operational management circumstances, the tour on that date may be canceled.

    - If the tour is canceled, customers will be notified by the conducting company or their travel agent.

    - The itinerary displayed on the booking screen is the final itinerary.

    - Please note that participants may not join partway through the tour. Also, participants may join only from the meeting location specified in advance.

  • Exemptions/Itinerary Guarantee

    - While transportation will be by private vehicle for each group, each experience included in the itinerary may be shared with other customers.

    - Depending on road conditions or other reasons, arrival time at each location may be considerably delayed.

    - The itinerary order may be changed depending on the weather and operating conditions of locations to be visited.

    - As the interior of Kirishima Shrine is not open to the public, it cannot be visited.

    - Please note that credit cards are not accepted for payment at Kirishima Roadside Station where you will stop for your free lunch. Be sure to bring cash with you.

    - The trekking course and duration on the day may change depending on volcanic activity and mountain trail restrictions.

    - Tour booking charge refunds due to the above changes will not be issued.

  • Regarding Children/Infants

     Children up to 5 years old may join free of charge, but will not be provided with hired car seats. If hired car seats are required, please make a booking under the child rate.

  • What to Wear/Bring

    - The expected trekking course at Ebino Kogen is approx. 5 km. While hiking equipment is not required, please wear shoes and clothing that are easy to walk in.

    -Bringing rain gear in case of inclement weather is recommended.

    - As large luggage such as suitcases cannot be brought during the tour, please leave them in a locker or at your hotel before participating.

  • Important Notes

    Customers who are late for the departure time will have their reservations canceled. Please give yourself plenty of time.
