Schedule

9:15 Meet in front of Kumamoto Station Tourist Information Center

11:00-12:05 Mt. Aso Nakadake CraterKusasenrigahama (Kusasenri Plain)

Visit the active crater of Mt. Nakadake, one of Aso’s Five Peaks (weather permitting), then enjoy a walk through the scenic Kusasenri grasslands. Stop by the Mt. Aso Visitor Center to learn about local wildlife and volcanic activity.
*If the crater is closed, the tour will visit the Aso Volcano Museum instead.

12:05-12:50 Lunch (meal charges not included in the tour)

Customers will have free time to purchase and enjoy their own lunch at the cafe and restaurant area in front of Kusasenri.
Kumamoto specialties such as Aka beef bowl and dago-jiru are recommended. 

13:45-14:25 Daikanbo

Visit Daikanbo, a top scenic spot in Kumamoto offering 360° views of Aso town, the Five Peaks of Aso—known for their resemblance to a sleeping Buddha—and the Kuju Mountains.
*The walk from the parking lot to the observation deck takes about 10 minutes uphill.

15:10-15:50 Nabegataki Falls

Visit Nabegataki Falls, formed by a massive eruption around 90,000 years ago. With a 10-meter drop and 20-meter width, its curtain-like flow creates a mystical and photogenic scene.
*The round-trip walk from the parking lot through Nabegataki Park takes about 20 minutes.

16:35-17:05 Aso Milk Factory

Stop by the Aso Milk Factory to enjoy locally made dairy products, along with fresh produce from nearby farms. Aso's rich agricultural heritage, especially its renowned dairy farming, is recognized globally and has become a proud local brand.

  • Inclusions

  • Operation Conditions/Tour Conditions

     -The number of customers for 1 group booking for this tour is 2-8.

    - The last reception day (reservation deadline) is 14 days prior to the tour.

    - If the minimum number of participants (2) is not met by 4 days before the scheduled date, or due to other operational management circumstances, the tour on that date may be canceled.

    - If the tour is canceled, customers will be notified by the conducting company or their travel agent.

    - Please note that participants may not join partway through the tour. Also, participants may join only from the meeting location specified in advance.

  • Exemptions/Itinerary Guarantee

    - While transportation will be by private vehicle for each group, each experience included in the itinerary may be shared with other customers.

    - Depending on road conditions or other reasons, arrival time at each location may be considerably delayed.

    - Itinerary locations and itinerary order may be changed depending on the weather and operating conditions of locations to be visited. Even when changed, the tour charge will not be refunded.

    - Access to the Mt. Aso Nakadake Crater is subject to weather conditions. If the viewing area is closed to the public, the crater tour will not take place and instead, the tour will visit the Volcano Museum.

    - Due to harmful volcanic gases being emitted from the Mt. Aso Nakadake Crater, people with respiratory (lung) disease, heart disease, pacemakers, asthma, and those who are not feeling well cannot participate.

  • Regarding Children/Infants

    Children up to 5 years old may join free of charge, but will not be provided with hired car seats. If seats are required, please make a booking under the child rate.

  • Meeting Location in Nagoya

    In front of Information Center entrance inside Kumamoto Station building

    *Customers who are late for the departure time will have their reservations canceled. Please give yourself plenty of time.

  • Children/Infants

    - Only 1 child 0-3 years old per adult may join for free. Grand Sumo Tournament viewing seats will not be provided for them. They will have to sit on the lap of their parent or guardian. Ages are determined based on how old the participant will be on the day of the tour. If the child requires a seat, please make a booking at the child rate (typically for ages 4-11), same price as the Adult rate.

  • Guide/Tour Conductor

    There will be an accompanying National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter from the tour meeting location to the tour end location.

  • Regarding Meals

     Customers are free to purchase their own lunch (meal charges not included in the tour) in the Kusasenri Plain area. Customers are to pay for their own lunch as it is not included in the tour booking charge.

  • Language Support

    Tour Guide Language: English - The tour is accompanied by a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter.

  • What to Wear/Bring

    - As there are areas or paths with poor or unequal footing, please participate wearing shoes and clothing that are comfortable to walk in. Bringing rain gear in case of inclement weather is recommended.

    - As large luggage such as suitcases cannot be brought during the tour, please leave them in a locker or at your hotel before participating.
