【Kyoto】 Tea farm tour by a tea farmer Wazuka town
Wazuka town is the main producer of Uji tea, one of the three best teas in Japan. The town is registered as a Japanese Heritage site and has a beautiful landscape of tea fields covering the mountain surface. Azuma Tea Farm has been producing tea here for 150 years. Today, all tea is grown completely without pesticides. There is a wide variety of selections, including organic certified Matcha, Sencha, Black tea and Oolong tea etc.. We do every step of the process ourselves under the motto `Farm to Cups`. In 2022, we opened "Azuma Teanery". This plan allows you to relax and enjoy our tea in a 100-year-old Japanese house and modern dining room standing in the tea field.
1. Stroll through a completely pesticide-free tea field. Tea picking is available from the end of April to November. 2.Tasting of various teas from Azuma Tea Farm in the dining kitchen. Introduction of how to brew and enjoy tea. 3. Matcha experience. You can choose between a comparison of different varieties of matcha, or experience how to make matcha.
