Nijo Castle

A World Heritage Site built by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first Tokugawa shogun. Don’t miss the ornate carvings and decorations in Ninomaru Palace.

*The tour will not enter the Honmaru Palace and Painting Gallery. 

Kinkaku-ji Temple

A World Heritage Site, this golden wooden structure is covered in pure gold leaf and reflected beautifully in the surrounding pond

Kyoto Imperial Palace

The Emperor’s former residence until about 150 years ago. When closed, the tour visits Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead—famous for the god of learning and its national treasure main hall, especially beautiful during plum and autumn leaf seasons.

Kasuga Taisha Shrine - Main Sanctuary Special Visit

A World Heritage Site from the Nara Period, Kasuga Taisha Shrine is known for the sacred deer of Nara Park, believed to be messengers of the gods. The tour includes special access to the Main Sanctuary area, where you can see the hanging lanterns up close.

Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha)&Nara Park

A World Heritage Site and symbol of the Nara Period, this massive wooden temple houses the impressive Great Buddha in its grand main hall.

     Lunch is not included on this tour. There will be time allotted for the Kyoto Station vicinity. Please purchase your own lunch.

  • Regarding Children/Infants

    Children up to 5 years old may join free of charge, but will not be provided with bus seats. If bus seats are required, please make a booking under the child rate.

  • Operation Conditions/Tour Conditions

    - If the minimum number of participants (1) is not met by 4 days before the scheduled date, the tour on that date may be canceled.

    - The last reception day (reservation deadline) is the day of the tour at 05:00.

     

  • Exemptions/Itinerary Guarantee: Itinerary/Destinat

    - The order of activities and arrival times may differ depending on road conditions and congestion at destinations.

    - As the Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed to visitors on Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a holiday) and on days when there is an Imperial Household Agency event, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead. If the closed day falls on the 25th, the tour will visit Nishi Hongan-ji Temple.

    - Nijo Castle is closed on Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December, and from Dec. 26 to Jan. 3. (Closed on the following day if Tuesday is a holiday.) If closed, Ryoan-ji Temple will be visited instead.

    - Participants will walk from the parking lot to Todai-ji Temple (about 25 min one-way). Thank you for your understanding. Please inform us at the time of booking if any person in your group is using crutches or a wheelchair, or has a chronic illness that makes it difficult to walk for long distances.

    - At Kasuga Taisha Shrine, the tour will also enter the Main Sanctuary special visit area. However, in case the special visit area cannot be entered due to events or operational circumstances, the Kasuga Taisha Museum or Todaiji Museum will be visited instead.

    - Refunds will not be issued in case the tour visits aforementioned alternative destinations.

    - Seats may not be designated.

  • Language Support

    Guide Language Support: English - The tour is accompanied by a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter.
