This 1-day tour explores Dazaifu, home to the Tenjin deity, and Yanagawa, known for its Edo-period charm. Visit Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, dedicated to the god of learning and culture, and enjoy a relaxing river cruise on a traditional "donko" boat with Japanese-style teatime. In Yanagawa, explore Ohana, a historic feudal lord’s residence, and the Tachibana Museum, which features treasured artifacts including a national treasure sword.

Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine(free time for sightseeing)
Dazaifu Tenmangu, dedicated to the god of learning Sugawara no Michizane, features the sacred tobiume plum tree and a temporary shrine with a nature-inspired design during renovations (until ~2026). After a guided tour, enjoy free time for lunch and explore local shops along the approach road, including the famous umegae-mochi. *Lunch is not included in the tour fee.

Private River Cruise Experience
Enjoy a 30-minute Yanagawa river cruise on a traditional "donko" boat, guided by a skilled boatman with entertaining commentary. Cruise through Edo-period canals, pass under low bridges, and savor tea and sweets on a special charter boat. *Rain ponchos provided in wet weather; kotatsu boat available in winter (Dec–Feb).

Visit Yanagawa Ohana and the Tachibana Museum to explore the rich history of the Tachibana family, former feudal lords of Yanagawa. Enjoy the elegant Edo-period residence, seasonal gardens, and traditional architecture, then view about 10,000 artifacts—including a national treasure sword—at the museum.
